One of our biggest and most fulfilling nights each year at Red Energy Arena is the annual McKean McGregor Community Gala Ball.
For the 2024 edition – the third gala ball to be held – 950 people gathered to enjoy the hospitality on offer and raise more than $250,000 for the Bendigo Health Cancer Wellness Program.
The program serves patients from across the Loddon Mallee region and includes yoga, meditation, oncology massage, reflexology, music and arts projects, and psychology support and counselling for patients.
Everyone involved in the night was thrilled with the way the fundraiser was supported.
“Congratulations to McKean McGregor and everyone in involved,” Nicole McNamara, Head of Events at Red Energy Arena, says.
“Red Energy Arena is very proud to host and be part of such a wonderful event. How lucky are we to live in such a truly amazing community.”
Our Chief Executive Officer, Dennis Bice, thanked the staff involved, who helped us to showcase our venue’s ability to host major events.
On the night, staff catered for 950 guests, with 22 meals plated every 60 seconds by the hospitality team.
“I just wanted to pass on my thanks to everyone on the back of what was a superb effort,” Dennis says.
“An impressive total of $254,358.21 was raised on the night for Bendigo Health’s Cancer Wellness Program – what an incredible community effort, and I extend my appreciation to all staff. It was a night we all can be very proud of.
“The feedback I have received and continue to receive has been quite amazing.”
Some of that feedback has come from Stephanie Lim from Business Events Victoria, which represents conference venues, accommodation providers, tour operators, local councils, regional tourism organisations and service providers.
“Seeing Red Energy Arena come alive and dressed in a dinner setting was definitely an impressive experience,” she says.
