Massive month of events for our community

We are hugely excited here at Red Energy Arena about a bumper calendar of events this September with something for everyone.

Our sold-out international netball test match featuring the Origin Australian Diamonds is sure to be a massive highlight.

But there is also a series of inclusive and community sports sessions this month, showcasing our venue’s ability to provide opportunities to a diverse range of people to play, connect and have fun.

“We are very excited about the sports program over the next month at the arena,” Craig Armstead, General Manager – Sport, Red Energy Arena, says.

“It’s fantastic to continue to provide more opportunities for members of our local community to utilise these amazing facilities.”

One sport being offered here at Red Energy Arena for the first time is floorball, with the next session coming up on Tuesday 10 September.

Floorball is similar to floor hockey but played without stick or body contact, making it a skillful and fast-paced game.

Inclusive hockey, played using wheelchairs and a modified ball, is also scheduled here at Red Energy Arena in the coming weeks.

Before then, another inclusive sport – balloon football – will be holding its grand final games this month.

From Sunday 15 September, Red Energy Arena then plays host to the Mahindra Australian Youth Volleyball Championships.

“This event promises thrilling matches as the best young volleyballers demonstrate their skills and teamwork,” Nicole McNamara, Head of Events at Red Energy Arena, says.

“So, don’t miss the chance to support these rising stars and witness the future of Australian volleyball.”

The Youth Championships are then immediately followed by The Australian Club Volleyball Championships from Saturday 21 September.

“This event provides clubs from across Australia with a competitive opportunity to participate in a tournament-style event,” Nicole says.

“This event welcomes club, association, and territory teams, with no age restrictions on players. The goal is to offer a fun and exciting opportunity for teams to travel and play volleyball with their teammates and friends.”

Then to cap it off, it’s the Origin Diamonds taking on England on Wednesday 25 September, which is sure to be among our biggest events this year.

“This sell-out match will be an absolute blockbuster for those lucky people who secured tickets,” Nicole says.

In between all this action, we’ll still be hosting our Sunday Sessions, every Sunday from 1pm – 4pm, as well as our Siren to Siren footy finals night every Saturday.

We also have an exciting launch for the Tweed Sutherland First National (TSFN) partnership, along with a major Bendigo Braves partnership announcement coming up this month.

It is certainly a blockbuster month for us here at Red Energy Arena, and we could not be more excited.
