Our bistro has a new name, new look and new menu. Introducing Restaurant 91!
We’ve been working behind the scenes here at Red Energy Arena for many months to improve and revamp our dining experience for our members and guests.
It’s with a huge amount of excitement that we can now officially announce our transition from ‘bistro’ to ‘restaurant’!
If you’ve dined with us recently, you will have likely noticed our new menus, changes to food offerings, and signage updates around the restaurant. We’re planning more exciting additions to this over the coming months!
The idea of Restaurant 91 was born some time ago out of our kitchen, with our talented chefs looking for a way to have a stronger identity and position themselves amongst the strong restaurant scene in Bendigo.
The name itself derives from the location of the restaurant – 91 Inglis Street.
“Our menu has always been more in line with restaurant offerings, rather than traditional bistro dishes – so it made sense for us to come up with a better way to reflect this experience,” said Anita Harrington, Manager, Corporate Services at Red Energy Arena.
“We can seat up to 180 people in our restaurant and we’re now looking ahead to create some more intimate dining spaces and focusing our attention on other important details such as furniture and ambiance.”
For Naomi Johnston, our Catering and Services Manager, it’s been a long and thoughtful process for her and her team, balancing keeping what our diners love, as well as introducing some new options and more variety.
“Our menu has become more progressive with more inclusive dietary options – we have a wide variety of vegan options, as well as more gluten-free friendly dishes,” said Naomi.
“Some things will remain the same and some will change. We will continue to offer high quality meals, using fresh and local suppliers.
“Our pizzas are the same with fresh hand-stretched dough and quality toppings, and we are keeping our members nights, as well as running more restaurant quality specials.
“We’re so excited about having our own new identity and moving away from ‘bistro’ into a restaurant identity!”
From a brand perspective, we believe the new name, menu and look of the restaurant aligns with the quality of the food and service that’s always been in place.
“For a long time, we have received positive reviews for the quality of meals and service in the bistro and we wanted to raise the brand to match the experience and menu,” said Marketing Manager at Red Energy Arena, Eve Ritchens.
“2023 will see even more improvements to Restaurant 91 including more signage updates, fresh décor to soften the space, and a furniture refit is also on the cards.”
