A Major Milestone for Red Energy Arena

BENDIGO, VIC – 02 September 2026 – Today marks a major milestone for us here at Red Energy Arena, with our expanded and upgraded stadium officially complete.

For our team, our sporting community and the thousands of people who come through the Arena each week, it’s incredibly exciting to see this next stage of our venue come to life.

The redevelopment delivers two additional indoor courts, upgrades to existing facilities and a range of improvements designed to create a more accessible, welcoming and capable venue for our growing community.

Most importantly, it gives us more room to do what we’re here to do: provide opportunities for people to play, compete, connect and experience sport.

The project was delivered in partnership with the City of Greater Bendigo, with Development Victoria overseeing delivery on behalf of Sport and Recreation Victoria as part of the Victorian Government’s Regional Sports Infrastructure Program. Fairbrother Pty Ltd was the head contractor, with City Collective as lead designer.

The redevelopment also features stunning artworks by Dja Dja Wurrung artists Troy Firebrace and Melissa Taylor, bringing a distinctive connection to Country and community throughout the interior and exterior of the venue.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has played a part in bringing the project to life, and to our members, sporting clubs, participants and visitors for their patience while works have taken place around a busy, operating venue.

While today marks the official opening, it’s only the beginning.

Further information about the new courts, community sport opportunities, bookings and Term 4 scheduling will be shared in the coming weeks as we bring the expanded facilities fully into operation.

We’re also looking forward to welcoming the wider Bendigo community to an official community opening event in the coming months, with more details to come.

There could hardly be a more fitting week to reach this milestone, with all 10 NBL teams arriving at the Arena for five huge days of the CODE Sports NBL Blitz.

We can’t wait to see what comes next.
